Playskool Dance Cam

My youngest son loves music, loves to dance and see himself on video (Do you think I have a rock star on my hands ?) so when I came across the Playskool Dance Cam I knew he would love it. When Playskool sent us the Dance Cam to try I was excited to see the Dance Cam and my son in action. What I did not know is that the whole family would have fun with it. My older boys would not admit that they like to join their little brother dancing ,but they do. This mom has also joined in the fun (shhhh….Dad has also).

One of my favorite things about the Dance Cam is the easy to set up !
  1. Simply insert the 4 “AA” batteries (not included) into the console.
  2. Connect it to your TV.
  3. Adjust the camera angle
  4. Select a mode.
  5. Dance !
The Dance Cam is best viewed on a 27" television or smaller. We have a 57" and it works fine. We did try it on a smaller tv and picture quality was great, but since we are always in the family room that is where we keep the Playskool Dance Cam hooked up and ready to play.

Playskool products have been welcomed into the homes of many for generations. Not only do these toys create fun for children of all ages-they help build those developing imaginations.

My Kelsie has fallen in love with the Playskool Clipo Hippo. She won't put it down! This adorable hippo will keep your little one entertained with building and rolling around. When it's time to clean up, just "feed" Hippo the blocks and it's all cleaned up until time to play again!

Come head over to For The Love of Baby! and check out more about the Clipo Hippo. Kelsie had to show off her Hippo on video for you to see!

BooginHead SippiGrip

Does your little one love to throw everything ? Do their sippy cups always end up on the floor or ground ? Have you had to chase a sippy cup down a aisle of the store while shopping or even while pushing the stroller. While in the car do you have screaming toddler because they can not reach their cup. If you answered yes, then you need the the SippiGrip ! SippiGrip is a is durable, washable and has a unique grip material for a strong hold. SippiGrip grips your child's cup, bottle or toy for a secure and safe fit!

I am not sure why my toddler thinks if he is in the shopping cart or in his stroller he MUST throw his cup constantly. I can not tell you how many cups we have lost !

As you can see in the
photo of my son in his stroller the SippyGrip works great ! We went to the zoo on Mothers Day and it was so nice not to worry where his cup was and it was always in his reach. I also always take the SippiGrip to the grocery store and attach his cup to the cart.

Does Your Carseat have Side Impact Protection? Recar Signo Does.

Have you heard the buzz about Recaro carseats? Recaro is a seating expert. Not only do they specialize in Child Safety Seating, they also design motorsport seating! I felt that if they could design a seat that would assist in the safety of drivers going at immense speeds, imagine what they could do in regards to child safety!

The thing that sells me on Recaro carseats, like the Signo my son is sitting in, is the Side Impact Protection! Not all carseat have this. But the Recaro Signo has energy absorbing headwings and mid-section support, as well as structural support for their hip and thighs. That's great to know, since so many children are injured during a side impact collission. Plus, it just makes the seat more comfortable! When my son falls asleep, his head no longer slumps over! it helps him sit more appropriately, which looks more comfortable and safer in the event of a collission.

Recaro makes two convertible seats, as well as a toddler seat and boosters. The two convertible seats are the Como and Signo. So, what's the difference? Well, I love that the the Signo has an infinite adjustable headrest. The Como has 5 headrest and harness positions. And while both convertibles come with latch mini connectors, the Signo has an additional latch bar which makes the switch from rear to forward-facing easier.

If you would like to read more about my experience
with the Recaro Signo, please visit the Mom Buzz and read my complete review.

You can view a demo of the Recaro Signo here: Recaro Signo Demo.

My Plate-Mate helps little ones eat

Let's face it, being a little kid is TOUGH work. There's sooo many things they have to learn and man, it's got to be stressful figuring out how to get things "just right".

Kelsie is learning how to feed herself and getting that fork and spoon just right to get that food of her plate is all about learning. Too many times have I seen her food slide right off that plate and she's instantly back to grabbing it with her fingers out of frustration.

My Plate-Mate has helped out our little ones. Their innovative design helps toddlers get their food on their fork or spoon and not on the table or floor. Just snap it on to your child's plate and it acts as a "spill guard" to your little one's food. Cool huh?

How would you like to win a My Plate-Mate for your little one? This is a MUST-HAVE for anyone with a little one learning how to feed themselves. Head over to For The Love of Baby to read more about My Plate-Mate and enter to win!

TutuLegz - Tutu Cute!

Finally, a tutu that is made to be worn as everyday wear for your child! Don't get me wrong, I think it's adorable when you see a little girl running around the store with them on or at the supermarket. But those times are far and few in between when you know how many other girls have those same tutus in their closet, unworn.

But two sisters completely solved that problem. They designed TutuLegz, "the everyday tutu". TutuLegz are stylish, comfortable and practical. The tutu is not overly poufy and it comes attached to comfortable "legz". So no more searching for tights to put under that tutu! Your little girl can wear her TutuLegz everywhere - school, daycare, playdates and grandmas. It's always appropriate and always cute.

Each TutuLegz also has complementing tutu tees that can be purchased separatly. The Penelope the Pony Tee is white with the same Pony on the front. It's 100 percent cotton. But you can choose between long and short sleeves when purchasing.

And right now you can WIN TutuLegz from the Mom Buzz! Contest ends May 13th, so don't miss out!

Patricia Anne Designs Review

Our family seems to always be on the go. We all know that a car ride isn't comfortable at all, but I want my kids to be as comfortable as possible! While looking for a great travel blanket that my son could cuddle up to, or even cover up his little legs should he get cool, I discovered Patricia Ann Designs. The products that they offer are absolutely gorgeous and I was very excited to have the opportunity to give their travel blanket a try.

The Patricia Anne Travel Silkie arrived beautifully package to my door and I honestly can't put into words just how soft this blanket is. The Silkie that we have is the Chocolate Satin back and trim with their traditional café chenille. One side is satin smooth, and the other side is a cuddly soft. When trying to figure out how to explain what the fluffy side felt like, I asked my daughter what it reminded her of. She said that it felt as soft as a bunny. My son loves both sides, but prefers the fluffy side against his skin. I have to admit that I didn't pick out this particular silkie on my own. I had the help of Shelley from Patricia Anne to help me find the perfect product for my little man.

Patricia Ann Designs was born on New Years Day, 2004 and has been flourishing by leaps and bounds ever since!! I am Shelley Ann and my mom is Mary Patricia (aka Pat). We are the Patricia and the Ann of Patricia Ann Designs! My mom and I began this venture starting out like many successful businesses ~ out of our garage! All we had were a couple of sewing machines, scissors, thread and some great fabric! But, after just a few short months, our demand grew and so did we!!

Recaro Vivo Car Seat

I was very excited to say the least when I was able to review RECARO Vivo car seat for my son Bryce. Not only because I was in the need of a new car seat but because of RECARO's design and safety features of the Vivo. The Vivo also will probably be the last seat we own, with a weight range of 30-100 lbs and maximum height of 59 inches (approximately ages 3-12). This seat will be able to grow with Bryce. It is also very easy to move car to car if needed. He is seating up higher and has a great view out the window. The generous padding seems very comfortable, especially when we take a longer trip.

Mally Bibs

My son has always been a fairly clean eater and hates getting food on his hands and clothes. While searching for a great bib, I discovered Mally Bibs. These leather bibs are amazing!! The bibs we have tried in the past just didn't fit right. My son would always want them off the minute I put them on. With the Mally bib it is a different story. He actually puts the bib on himself. Sometimes he wears it the way you see in the picture and other times he wears it with the snack catcher pocket in the front. It's actually for catching those dropped snacks, but he loves putting his snacks in them snack catcher and eating on the go.

Here is a little video to that I did with him showing me how easy it is to take on an off:

Polka Tot Boutique

I love having things that are different than everyone else. This includes clothes for my daughter. There have been plenty of times when I see another girl wearing the same clothes as my daughter, but I love it when she is in something unique, and all the other moms want to know where I got it. Well, this is what happened with our Spring shirt from Polka Tot Boutique.

First of all, it just screams Spring. Too bad it's been snowing and cold here. But at least it brightens my day to look at it. Second thing I love, is it's completely unique. I have never seen another shirt like this anywhere. And they sell more than just shirts. They have things for boys, girls, moms, teachers, you name it! It's all handmade, so it has a special feel to it.

WETT GIGGLES

I know three little boys that LOVE Wett Giggles. Those little boys belong to Susan (Life in a House of Blue) and Me (the Mom Buzz). Wett Giggles are cute Nail Brushes and Toys that are trapped in natural, glycerin soap. The more you use the soap, the faster those cute little buddies get free! And the soap is HANDMADE, one at at time, with essential oils and shea butter.

The soap smells SO GOOD! We have Horatio and Hamlet - little frogs in Watermelon Soap. Horatio is a simple, cute squeaky toy once he is free. And Hamlet is a nail brush. The boys are still trying to free him! Horatio was freed within 9 days or so. The boys were thrilled!

Susan's son has the duck pair, Juliet and Ophelia. Juliet is a duck toy in an orange scented soap. Ophelia is a nail brush trapped in Lemon Essential Oil Soap.

There are so many scents and characters to choose from. You have to check it out! Plus, you can purchase soaps from the Wett Giggles line with Nail Brushes or with Toys Only, when you have a real little one. Plus, currently all soaps come with a soap dish!

Play and Learn Spoons

I have to say that these Play and Learn Spoons are my absolute favorite spoons I have ever used!

They are perfect for kids learning to self feed. They are made of a soft rubber that kids can chew on and use as a toy. The unique design makes it easier for kids to get food from the plate to their mouth, prevents gagging, and is made for left or right handed use.

If you want to read more about these, be sure to check out my post all about the Play and Learn Baby Spoons from Baby Human on my blog Sweet 'n' Sassy Girls.

MallyBibs: Stylish, Leather Bibs

I hate cloth bibs. They get ugly and stained after one use, it seems. I used plastic ones, but they are almost ALWAYS made in China. So then I have to keep an ear and eye out for recalls. But, there is another option. MallyBibs. These are leather bibs made in Canada! If something falls on the leather, just wipe it off! No stains! And there are so many other cool things about owning one.

1. It is reversible, with a catch pocket on the other side
2. They are so stylish that it is even okay for toddlers and preschoolers to wear
3. It is magnetized so you can hang it on your fridge
4. You can easily adjust the magnets in the tabs so that it can fit the chubbiest or tiniest of babies!

Honesty, no other bib compares! This is totally a favorite of the Mom Buzz!

Win:

BabyMel X2 Diaper Bag

I found that it can be hard choosing the perfect diaper bag that fits you and your child. When you have your second child, it seems to get even harder. That's why I am so glad to share with you the BabyMel X2! It is this AWESOME 2-in-1 diaper bag. Put items for child #1 in one bag. Put items for child #2 in the second bag. Carry them both with one shoulder strap. If your hubby takes Child #1 on a fun trip, while you take Child #2 in a different direction - just separate the bags and go on your merry way. The bags come with an extra Shoulder Strap (with built in stroller strap) just for circumstances like this.

Both bags have wipe-clean liners inside, to easily clean up spills. They come with a changing pad and have an insulated side pocket to hold sippies or bottles! Plus, they come in a gorgeous selection of sleek colors. Red/Black (my favorite), Black/Black and Sand/Black.

Win:

Imagiplay Toys-A Toy for a Lifetime

I’ve said it before, simple is best. Imagiplay’s Pushalong Duck is the epitome of a simple pleasure. It’s a favorite with my daughter, with its bright color and familiar shape it is something she can easily locate among the flashing lights and loud noises of some of her other toys.

As a parent I appreciate toys that don’t require batteries and that don’t have tiny pieces that come apart. The Pushalong Duck is constructed from a solid piece of sustainable rubberwood. A bonus is also the rubber edged wheels, that means no marks when she runs it along the wall.

Imagiplay set’s itself apart from other toy manufacturers with their motto “Toys with Integrity”. They produce quality toys with very specific principles; educational values and eco-friendly sources. Imagiplay products are made from environmentally conscious materials , plantation grown rubberwood is their favorite. They produce toys that enable children to use their imagination while benefiting the environment around us.

Some of my other Imagiplay favorites are the Buddy Blocks. My daughter is at the age where she recognizes a lot of different animals, these simple puzzles will help her to assemble those animal pictures.

If you a looking for quality products to last a lifetime your search stops here. Imagiplay has taken all the features we like best and presented us with a great selection of superior toys.
Imagiplay is a Playdate Pick!

PlasmaCar: Out of this World Ride-On

I found the perfect ride-on for kids and even fun-loving adults! PlasmaCar! It is this space-age looking ride-on that is powered by Kid Energy. Nope, I am not talking about foot-power Flintstone-style. You actually put your feet up on the footpads, then you swivel the steering wheel left and right. And there you go - the car is powered by that action and starts moving!

Here you can see me with my little one riding it in the house. It's so easy to steer, I can easily maneuver it in my living room! But, do take note - PlasmaCar is not recommended for use on hardwood or laminate flooring.

The PlasmaCar can hold up to approximately 220 pounds on a smooth surface. So I can easily ride with my 1 year old until he gets the dexterity needed. But 3 year olds can ride it with EASE! My niece was zooming around the Daytime studio in it! You can also see Cyndi the host riding it at the very end of my Daytime segment. Click Here for Daytime Segment.

There are wonderful colors to choose from, we have the purple. There is also red, pink, blue, green and yellow. And you can buy parts as needed from PlasmaCar.com.

What I love about PlasmaCar:
  • Durable - it can withstand being ridden on by me, my niece and my kids!
  • Simple - simple move the steering wheel and the PlasmaCar is powered by inertia, centrifugal force, gravity, and friction.
  • No pedals - so it is a great beginner ride-on
  • No batteries - Ride-ons nowadays seem like they have to impress us with moving, singing and beeping. Then we are replacing four D batteries every week. But there are NO batteries in PlasmaCar
The boys and I ride the PlasmaCar daily. It is the most fun ride-on we have in the house. And I love that it will take them FOREVER to outgrow it. I mean, when exactly are they going to weigh the maximum weight limit (on a smooth surface) of 220? The only person in the house too big to use it is my bodybuilding husband. I think he weighs 265?

But, don't just take my word for it! It has also won these awards recognizing it for it's unique qualities:
  • Toy Portfolio Gold Seal Award
  • Today's Parent Top Toy List
  • Canadian's Toy Association Hot Toys of the Holiday Season
  • 2003 Gold Star Toy Award
But don't just take my word on it. See what other real moms are saying!

Jenna from For the Love of Baby:
"Kelsie loves outdoor time and the PlasmaCar will add to her fun we have outside as a family."

Susan from Life in a House of Blue:
"As a mom of 3 very active boys the PlasmaCar is a great toy to burn off that extra energy."

Samantha from As They Grow Up:
"My 2 year old drives it around the house and even my husband and I have been on it a few times. Not to mention that our daughters use it every chance they get."

Heather from Grab Bag Reviews:
"The Plasma Car sits nice and low to the ground and this means even my 15 month old enjoys it!"

You can purchase a PlasmaCar for only $69.95! Just visit PlasmaCar.com and choose your child's (and your) favorite color. Honestly, I will be getting another one for my household so both boys can ride together. It is a perfect holiday or birthday gift! The must-have ride-on for every household!

PlayDate Pick & CONTEST: Skuut's Beginner Bike

I remember learning to ride a bike. It was not easy! I remember my dad taking off the steering wheels yelling at me to, "PEDAL, PEDAL, PEDAL!" as I wobbled like crazy. In fact, my parents still laugh and groan at the biking mishaps my sister and I had.

Like how I refused to use the handbrakes, I would just jump off.

Or the time my sister's shoelace got caught in the wheel and she tumbled off.

Or the time my tire got stuck between the that "attractive" gap between the sidewalk and the grass and I fell on my head. (A rush to the ER happened shortly after! My dad has an inner NASCAR driver in him, by theway).

Anyways, my point is that learning to ride a bike doesn't have to be that CRAZY! Ease your child into it with SKUUT! Skuut is an AWESOME, ATTRACTIVE, wooden, beginner's bike that will teach your child to GLIDE and BALANCE before they have to worry about braking and pedaling. There are no pedals or training wheels on this wooden bike. All your child has to do is sit, scoot and glide to ride Skuut. In fact, your child can transition from his Skuut to a regular bike without ever having to depend on training wheels! It's meant for ages 2 to 5, so I knew it would be PERFECT for my oldest, who is 2.5.

When you receive your Skuut, you only need to do minor assembly. I attached the seat, the handlebars and the front wheel. The seat is adjustable so the tiniest of riders can Skuut! If you want measurements, the height of the seat can range from approximately 13.5 inches to 16.5 inches high.

Now, you know the Mom Buzz wouldn't steer you wrong. But if you want to hear more accolades on this awesome first bike, then feel comfortable in knowing that it has won awards from:
  • The Toy Man - Editor's Choice
  • The Toy Man - Award of Excellence
  • The Toy Man - Seal of Approval
  • The National Parenting Center Seal of Approval Winner
  • Top 10 active children's products for 2006 by Dr. Toy
  • Winner of the Education.com A+ Award
  • Picked as a top Ride-on Toy in The Great American Toy Test 2006
And it is a PlayDate Pick, as well!

Samantha from As They Grow Up says:

"My son loves riding it indoors and outdoors. He prefers the skuut over the tricycle that he has. It turns corners really well and goes as fast as his little legs can make it go."

Heather from Grab Bag Reviews says:

"My oldest found this bike to be super fun, and he loves skuuting around inside the house! The construction is very sturdy, and the whole bike comes together with less than 5 minutes of assembly time."

And Erin from the Mom Buzz (Wait - that's me!) says:

"Everyone loves this beginner bike, from my 14 month old (who IS too short too ride, but he thinks he can) to my 5 year old nephew! And of course, my niece and 2.5 year old love it too!"

So...are you looking for a birthday gift for a little toddler? A beginner bike is a great idea! So scoot on over to Skuut.com to purchase one! Or you can ...

EarCheck

What is Earcheck ? EarCheck Middle Ear Monitor accurately and painlessly detects the presence of middle ear fluid, a key sign of an ear infection. Used by pediatricians for years, EarCheck helps you determine when your child might have an ear infection and allows for more meaningful conversations with your child's doctor.
How Does it work ? It uses gentle sound waves to accurately and painlessly detect the presence of middle ear fluid, a key sign of an ear infection.
Easy to use: You hold your child's ear up and back, stick the tip into your child's ear, just like an ear thermometer, and push the scan button again
There are then 3 color-coded levels:
1 - green = fluid unlikely
2 - yellow = monitorr
3 through 5 - red = consult the Doctor

My Youngest son has had 2 double ear infections in the last 2 months. Both times he had no symptoms. With the first one he went to the Dr. for his well check and that is when we discovered it. They 2nd one was when we went to the Dr. to make sure his ears had cleared up and we realized that his medication did not work and he still had the double ear infection. A few days after starting his 2nd round of medication I received the EarCheck and I checked his ears right away. By then his medication had started working and it read 2-yellow (monitor) and a few days after that it read 1-green (fluid unlikely). That was a great sign that this time the new meds were working. Since he seems not to have symtoms when his ears are infected I plan on checking him regularly with the EarCheck. I think my favorite feature is that it is so easy to use in your own home anytime. I wish I would of had this for my older kids when they were smaller !

The EarCheck would make a great baby gift for any new mom !

The EarCheck is available online at www.earcheck.com. It is also available at Babies R Us and WalMart,Target and Walgreens
Retail Value is $49.95
