Summer Party: UV Skinz Shirt

My husband is very fair skinned, so it is no surprise that our oldest inherited his complexion. My littlest one is more like me, a light olive skin that tans well. But that doesn't mean I let him tan. In fact, as a family we all take precautions against UV by applying SPF 50 sunscreen before frolicking outside. And my boys and husband usually wear shirts, as well.

Now, my husband was telling me he wants a new shirt to wear to the beach. So, I have been HIGHLY considering buying a UV Skinz shirt for him for Father's Day. Check out this Black and White Koi Print Shirt. The shirt blocks over 98 percent of the sun's harmful rays. And it looks gorgeous!

For the boys, I loved the Blue Tie-Dye and the Sharky. Now, my oldest already has a shirt that he usually wears to the beach. But I am not sure how much UV it protects against? With UV Skinz, they tell me. The Blue Tie-Dye has an SPF of 50 while the Sharky blocks over 98%. Plus, the shirts also have other wonderful features that really helps UV Skinz stand apart from any competition. And I know from experience.

I got the Blue Tie-Dye for my littlest one, since we go to the beach, pool and water parks so often. When I received it in the mail and took it out of the packaging, I was amazed how SILKY SOFT it was! Like butter! That's because they have a unique microfiber blend that is quick drying and silky smooth.

Next, there was no irritating tag. Instead, the name tag is embedded onto the material so you can keep track of shirts. And speaking of no irritation - they use a flat-lock stitching so there are no bothersome seams. Little ones can be so sensitive to those things! And we want our children to be comfortable in these protective shirts!

Finally, UV Skinz has raglan cut sleeves for maximum range of motion. My boys are so active, they don't want to be held back by their sleeves. And for older kids and adults, its important to have a full range of motion when swimming in these shirts.

The UV Skinz are also great, compared to wearing a traditional t-shirt in the water, because thy do not absorb vasts amounts of water. That can actually be dangerous when swimming, the extra weight as it limits your movement. And since it does not absorb as much water, it dries quicker!

The last time we went to the park, my husband put the UV Skinz on my oldest. The boys wear the same size, which is convenient! I had applied sunscreen, SPF 50, everywhere else on him. But I knew the shirt provided the same amount of protection in the sun. It was very comforting and I definitely want more!

I have to say that the story behind UV Skinz really moved me. The owner's husband passed away from Sun Cancer, leaving behind his wife and 3 boys. Few people realize that skin cancer is deadly. That's why she is on a mission to protect as many people as possible comfortably. One shirt only costs the same as a few bottles of sunscreen.
