Working Out is working for me

But it is the bain of my existence! I hate working out, plain and simple.

It didn’t used to be this way; I used to benefit from Billy Blanks Tae Bo every night. I also had a very active lifestyle, my friends and I were what you would call “clubheads” and we would hit the night clubs a few nights a week for a couple hours of dancing. I couldn’t tell you the last time I was in a dance club. But every winter I complain that my tank tops are going to look horrible with my flabby arms and my bathing suits would look so much better with less belly pudge but I don’t do anything about it.

Well this year has been different. In January we purchased the Wii Fit and while I don’t get on it much as I’d like it’s been a great way to measure my progress and do Yoga. The Wii Fit Yoga moves are great even though I’ve never taken a yoga class before. The instructions are clear and the demos are simple to follow. I’m now more focused on balance and posture. I no longer work on the laptop with it sitting on the arm of the sofa. While eating dinner I try harder to sit up straight and pull in my abdominal muscles.

Along with Wii Fit I’ve been utilizing free Exercise TV. The Biggest Loser trainers are AWESOME. Gillian Michael’s workout intensity makes me feel like puking and Bob Harper is so entertaining and genuine the time just flies by. And quite honest, aren't they just HOT to look at. In the last 5 weeks I’ve lost about 12lbs and I’ve noticed a change in my flexibility and stamina. Some weeks are better than others with fitting in the workouts during the day. I’ve even convinced the daycare kid that working out is fun. Just kidding, they actually ask to do it, they just love jumping around and pretending to do push-ups. Chicks-n-Chickens is still my Shae’s favorite. She loves the music and the babies.
So while getting to a point of regular exercise is a HUGE step for my I still have a lot of work to do. I’m not trying to get back to college weight but I’d like to get a flatter belly and toner arms and thighs so I can buy cuter clothes!
